Here’s a recap of our 6th annual LSA Spring dart tournament on Sunday March 9th which was an absolute blast! Although we had a smaller crowd, the day was still a HUGE success raising a total of $880.00 for LSA!
The event was held at Tailgators Sports Bar & Grill in Coralville and just like previous years, Tailgators were great hosts and partners – The first 5 participants to arrive at the event each received a free appetizer of their choice on the house!
We started the event by handing out some awesome door prizes. Everyone attending got a random number and starting with #1 each person got to choose a door prize. Then every subsequent person could select from the remaining unclaimed prizes or “steal” a prize that was already chosen. This was way more fun than we anticipated.
As the dart tournament was under way, a total of $200.00 in 50/50 raffle tickets were sold. Colton Alexander-Teague was the lucky winner of $100.00 which he graciously donated back to LSA.
On that note - we would like to take a moment to thank several generous cash donors including:
We also owe many thanks to the LSA Board Members and Volunteers who donated fantastic door prizes, and their own precious time, to create a magical event enjoyed by all!
Now to the darts: The tournament consisted of 6 teams, made up of 2 players paired together by a random draw. Each match was the first team to win 2 out of 3 games of “01” and the bracket was double elimination, so every team played at least 2 matches and a minimum of 4 games.
In the end team Sexy Six Defenders (Tasha Arhart & Zeke Cieslak) defeated team No Nut Airheads (Lexi Oakley & Isaiah Griffith) to win the championship!
Tasha & Zeke each received an official iPride Softball tee shirt and free player registration for our upcoming Spring softball season.
Congratulations Tasha & Zeke!
